Where the build carries on after the shop closes
The ModShops USA community is a forum for 4x4 and off-road builds, and for the shops that do the work. Your ModShops account is your community account — one sign-in for the directory and the forum. Reading is open to everyone; posting takes a free account.
What is inside
Six categories, kept few on purpose. A forum with a page of near-empty sections tells you nothing about where to post.
Start Here
What the community is, the guidelines, and where to introduce yourself and your rig.
Build Threads
One thread per rig, updated as the build goes — parts, photos, costs, and what you would do differently.
Tech & Troubleshooting
Suspension, steering, drivetrain, tires, and the noises none of them should be making. Post the symptom, get a direction.
Shop Talk
Finding, vetting, and working with shops — from both sides of the counter. Owners post here under their own names.
Trails & Events
Where to wheel, what it took to get through, and who is going. Trail reports carry a date for a reason.
Site Feedback
A listing with the wrong details, a search that returned the wrong thing, a page that will not load.
How it works
One account, one sign-in
Your ModShops account is your community account. No second sign-up, no second password, and nothing extra to remember. Posting needs a confirmed email address — the forum inherits that check from the directory rather than repeating it.
Verified owners are marked
Owners of a shop we have verified carry a badge that says so, and it goes away if the listing stops being verified. It tracks verification only — what a shop pays for its listing buys nothing here.
Moderated, and open about how
Forum posts publish immediately, because a conversation that waits for approval is not one. Reviews on the directory are read by a person first, because those attach to a business's reputation. Both rules are written down.
Before your first post, read the community guidelines. They cover what belongs here, how shops may talk about their own work, and what moderation actually does.
Bring your rig
The half of a build that never makes it into a listing — what it cost, what broke, and who got it right the second time — is the half everyone else is looking for.
